About Us

Sookmyung Women’s University was founded in 1906 with the aid of the Joseon Dynasty. In May 1948, it was promoted to Sookmyung Women’s University, and in March 1955 it was promoted to a university.
In 2006, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the foundation, the Centennial Memorial Hall was established, and commemorative events such as academic, cultural, and exhibition were held. In 2017, it proclaimed the slogan Renaissance Sookmyung and is pursuing educational innovation to increase global competencies by responding to the era of the 4th industrial revolution.

Challenge

• The current LMS system, called ‘Snowboard’, which supports students’ learning management, professor’s course management, and plays the role of video streaming service and content authoring tool, is limited in providing high-quality service due to outdated hardware and temporary server load.

Our Role

• General operations: Installing and modifying instances, installing patches, performing backups, and creating AMIs.
• Regular reporting: Analyzing usage patterns, monitoring billing trends, and conducting workshops to develop improvement plans.
• Monitoring: Providing 24/7/365 monitoring services, detecting and notifying issues.
• Issue response: Recovering from issues, conducting root cause analysis, and reporting on the causes.

Outcomes

• Improving the efficiency of class preparation through system restructuring and managed services, allowing for easy sharing of lecture content
• Facilitating real-time communication between professors and students
• Promoting self-directed learning through a variety of learning processes
• Offering personalized and customized learning paths based on individual learning styles
