About the Company

Founded in 2015, Jeju Beer is a craft beer manufacturer headquartered in Jeju Island. It has partnered with Brooklyn Brewery, a leading craft beer brand in the United States, to receive technology and expertise transfer, and has launched various beers such as 「Jeju Wit Ale」 and 「Jeju Pêlon Ale」. As the first craft beer company to enter Korea's top 5 convenience stores and large supermarkets, it has recorded 2x sales growth year-over-year. Recognized highly for continuous sales growth and increased market share, six investment companies including Stonebridge Ventures have made an additional investment of 14 billion won, achieving a cumulative investment of 60 billion won.
Based on successful fundraising, Jeju Beer plans to expand its existing brewery into one with the industry's largest production capacity, doubling production volume. Additionally, driven by this sales growth, the company is pursuing an IPO in 2021.

Amazon Web Services

Along with business growth and in accordance with the company's strategic direction, the decision was made to migrate to SAP on AWS to strengthen business competitiveness and handle production efficiency, supply chain management, and various management requirements. AWS was chosen considering its performance, scalability, global infrastructure, SAP-certified services, and customer-centric approach.
With support from MegazoneCloud, an APN partner, the infrastructure was built in 2 months and SAP solution installation and stabilization were completed.
Jeju Beer configured the SAP solution with the safest and most universally used AWS services for performance and stability. The company met SAP requirements and considered optimal SAP user experience using AWS services such as next-generation Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) memory-optimized R4 instances, Amazon Elastic Block Store (EBS), Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (Amazon VPC), AWS Virtual Private Network (AWS VPN), and Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3). Additionally, security was enhanced by setting different access permissions for each account and using AWS VPC Security Groups to open IPs only to authorized users.

Previously, Jeju Beer had a high possibility of human error due to manual work processes, but with SAP on AWS, the company now has an environment where human errors do not occur. As a result, data generated through SAP can be trusted and used as verified data, and the system is configured so that only authorized employees can view sensitive data, with access to data differentiated according to security levels. Team Lead Ko Dae-hee stated, 「Previously, we were busy processing work, but now after handling tasks, we can verify with ease or spend time on self-development, which has increased not only work efficiency but also job satisfaction.」
When operating infrastructure by purchasing equipment, there are many issues to consider such as equipment purchase, additional operational personnel, problems from aging equipment, or equipment replacement. However, since AWS and verified APN partners manage everything from preparation to operation, efficient operations have become possible.
